‘Really nasty’ injury causes concern for Storm star

Ryan Papenhuyzen failed to finish the first half in Melbourne’s 38-30 loss to the Cowboys after suffering an injury to his knee.
The fullback pulled up lame after he was tackled in the ninth minute and was attended to by medical staff.
Papenhuyzen stayed on the field for another five minutes before leaving and not returning.

Storm legend Billy Slater described the diagnosis as a “good result”.

Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt then returned serve before both sides went try for try.
Murray Taulagi and Feldt with a double were the scorers for the Cowboys while Alec MacDonald and Tyran Wishart crashed over for Melbourne. The Cowboys led 18-16 at half-time.
Papenhuyzen wasn’t the only concern for the Storm with Marion Seve suffering a syndesmosis injury in the 15th minute. He also failed to return.
The second half was a similar affair with another five tries scored.
North Queensland only relinquished the lead once when it was 24-24 after another Wishart try in the 56th minute.
Tries to Reece Robson and Jeremiah Nanai after Wishart’s effort ensured the Cowboys finished with a win. Storm youngster Ativalu Lisati scored the final try with North Queensland winning 38-30.
