We date this fine old ironstone plate to the 1890's. The maker was the English firm A. J. Wilkinson. Their logo appears on the back of the plate along with "Royal Ironstone China" and "England." The country of origin was added to exported pieces after 1891 and "Ltd" was added to A. J. Wilkinson after 1896, so the date of the plate is between 1891 and 1896. The design is a wild rose. There is a simple design of gilding near the edge of the plate. Despite its age of over 125 years this plate is in beautiful condition, no chips, hairlines, or repairs. The diameter is 9 inches.
