Chain shackles are a key part of connecting links for different types of rigging systems for industrial, agricultural and marine applications. A chain shackle is narrower than an anchor shackle. The smaller loop is designed to take high loads primarily in line. Unlike an anchor shackle that is ideal for multi-directional load handling, side and racking loads may twist or bend a chain shackle. The trade size 3/8" chain shackle has an inline working load limit of 2000 lb (1 U.S. Ton). Campbell load rated chain shackle bodies are made from drop forged carbon steel with galvanized alloy steel screw pins.
