Comstock was the first major stock agency to offer a line of CD-ROM discs with royalty-free images. Their initial offering, called "Comstock Klips".
The discs were MAC and PC compatible, contained 104 images and sold for for 9 each.
The purchase price includes rights for unlimited usage of all the photos on the disc for most purposes.
The file sizes are a 500K thumbnail and a 28MB full size image (compressed to something in the range of 4.5MB).
Comstock drew on decades of experience and leadership in the stock industry as it extended its line into royalty-free images

LESS than 38¢ per image.
Even the lowest cost online rights-free stock photography today is .00 an image or when a special deal is available 60¢ an image. Still almost twice the price of any of these images. From most online sources even ONE quality image can cost the same as this entire disk.
These discs were well cared for. They are not scratched or damaged. They cost a small fortune and I took good care of them. The photos are of the actual product for sale. They are being sold "AS IS." No returns.
